complete and total fuckup by police

Man is filmed on the balcony of his apartment firing shot at people (cell phone footage shows him try to shoot the guy recording from the ground, who ducked behind a building)
He was apparently upset and suicidal in a fight with his ex-girlfriend, with policec arriving around 1 PM
Police try to 'negotiate his surrender' with a female negotiator pleading with him, trying to convince him to come down. Shots ring out and "the negotiator dropped to her knees and cried"
The man was surrounded by police but still simply fled the building's garage in his jeep around 2 PM while the police remained on the phone with him, still attempting to talk him down, as he threatened "suicide by cops"
Somewhere in McLeod county he carjacked a resident, perhaps at random, and shot the owner in the chest. At this point deputies already knew he was shooting people
They got on the phone with OnStar to remotely disable the stolen vehicle, and the gunman simply carjacked another vehicle, shot the driver in the head and killed him and took off again, to be surrounded and arrested a few minutes later



This started with him on a balcony, with a gun drawn, shooting at people. Police set up a barricade and had rifles after that point. They could have shot him then, but instead continued to 'negotiate';

He crossed through about five different sheriffs departments without being stopped, murdered 1-2 more people and it took about 90 minutes to stop him

I got to the bottom of it, the shooter was white.

He was initially reported as a white male on police broadcasts, but by the time the police had arrived they identified him as a black man with light skin and a beard
That's the point where they continued to negotiate with him and allowed him to escape despite already having shot at people at random from his balcony

So I guess these cops didn't want the Chauvin treatment

they let him keep going longer than the ulvalde classroom cop
yeah its a direct line from george floyd to this. Maybe if they had kept the white male identification they'd be hosing his brain matter off that balcony right now

Is there a dichotomy between police raiding someones home in the middle of the night with no knock and shooting them as soon as they wake up, and these guys LARPing the LAPD from Demolition Man? He was trying to murder random civilians and the female negotiator broke down crying. They were more likely to issue him a citation for violating the verbal morality statute than shoot him
