Its due to make landfall later tonight. It has juggled from category 5 to 4 to 5 to 4 again a few times, but is most dangerous for the simple fact of its trajectory into Tampa unlike most storms.
Between evacuations, supply shortages, people locked in traffic fleeing and people bunkering down at home, looks like we've got a half a day until it comes to a head.
It is of course already picking up political winds and become a storm about Harris nosing into it and the scientifically illiterate blaming global warming or jewish space lasers.

Anyway looks like we've been thrown a big ol curveball

The whole situation is a giant dumpster fire and peoples lives are on the line. FEMA has failed at it's responsibility to provide crucial support to people in the entire region. The whole idea that "FEMA is out of funds" is a slap in the face to every American who pays taxes. We all see our own government print up TRILLIONS to feed our military industrial complex and give foreign nations absurd amounts of $$$ Helene and Milton have dealt Kamala a serious blow because it's now evident to everyone the government cares more about illegal immigrants(who are living in the hotels that are own citizens would be staying in to avoid Milton). They don't give access to the unsung heroes who are using their own supplies, equipment, etc. to help people that our own government is basically just "leaving to die". Yes it's a complex issue but who is going to benefit long term? Blackrock and Vanguard who own shares in all these Lithium mines that were set to start running in 2025. Which companies do you think will rebuild the cities that were swept away in the flood waters(probably large construction entities). What will the price of lumber be?

I have a good friend who lives in Tampa and a lot of family who own property in and around Cape Coral and this is going to be really bad. The last hurricane to strike around this area according to my Uncle ruined the area "forever" destroying beaches and establishments that will never be the same or/ come back.

Disaster capitalism is a real thing and the United States creates the most disasters and profits the most off of them. When we destroyed the ME we brought in our own companies like "Haliburton" for example to rebuild. We got rich dropping the bombs that leveled their cities and then rebuilding them. Then we installed puppets so we always had a hand in their backyard.

There is nothing new under the sun.

My father in law moved to Florida last year and it looks like he's going to have dodged both of these hurricanes, powerful luck

My family in Florida were in the direct initial path but now its way south of them. Easiest dodge is to stand still and watch druid's nado arc around you

My old man got an RV down there, put the anchors down deep and praying. Small loss though compared to some of these homes if it destroyed

It seems as if the trajectory has shifted slightly to the south compared with initial predictions, which might make all the difference in the world. The areas south of Tampa are far less populated, so it's better if the eye of the storm passes over there, just like it's better if the storm passes the inland further south from the Orlando area.

Will still be a catastrophic storm, don't get me wrong, but Tampa might have dodged the absolute worst case scenario.
