Its not a 2 party system. A majority of frogs are leftists, they just split over whether to be center-left or far-left. They outnumber the righties. And when they made a coalition government and joined forces they easily beat Le Pen. Macron's party had to give up a lot of seats and drop candidates to appease the far-left in order to make their leftwing union possible, but don't pretend its not the democratic will of the people. I don't have a problem with tactical voting. If the argument is against disproportionate representation, then that's a problem in almost every representative system, see winner takes all elections in the United States or the recent debacle in the UK. A majority of the French voter base put communists in power. This will go about as well as the first time around, and French public finances are in the late stages of collapse, but they (literally) asked for this.
