The problem is two fold, Responsibility + Option for an easy out.
If you say to a human animal, You can vaccuum that fetus out of your uturus and not have to bear the responsibility of raising it into a healthy well balanced human being.
There are many people who will choose the easy way out.

I think people are ignorant if they don't see it like this on many levels.
No woman I know whose had an abortion felt like it was a good thing. It was a terrible trauma that they deal with until this very day.
"Oh those damn bible belters want to control womans reproductive systems".
More like I don't want to see a woman looking like a shadow of her former self because she chose to have unprotected sex with multiple men who didn't/wouldn't wear a condom so now she has to kill the baby growing in her because she's not ready for it.
Where does the Bible come in when most the people having abortions don't believe in God and most the people having abortions do it as a form of birth control and not a "last resort".
Bible: We care about the health of the mother and her child!
People: We care about the choice of the mother above all else!
