It depends what you mean by had, more, impact, on, our, and communication. All of these words are multiply ambiguous.

using internet as a stand in for iphone i voted for that.

the printing press had a long lasting effect, but it was a slow burn. when it was created most people couldn't read.

the iphone made an immediate and swift impact and in under 20 years had entirely changed how people communicate, the internet even moreso.

This really isn't an opinion kind of question. Modern age technology where you can literally message someone across the world instantly is much more impactful for very obvious reasons.
