I am reminded of Mary Simon, another politician, who spent hundreds of thousands of our money for in-flight catering during a trip. They all claim that they are carrying out their official duties so shouldn't be paying out of their personal pockets. But what they really do is helping themselves to our hard-won wealth. And there doesn't seem to be anything we the taxpayers can do about it.

This doesn't bother me as much as insider trading within Congress.

The cost of the Secret Service alone is $2.2 billion which dwarfs any other expenditures they make. It's not possible for them to fly coach with a Secret Service detail. Air Force One's cost? Another $2 Billion.

Here in Germany, our vice chancellor spends roughly €1m per year on personal stylists and photographers.
To be fair though, a large part of his appeal as a politician comes from the fact that low info middle aged women love him and his "dreamy" look with his scruff and the slightly disheveled hair.
