The only situation I can see is if birthing the child will kill the mother.
So other than the mother dieing from birthing, how is it protecting them?

And as you know, mother's don't always die from giving birth... so?

Every birth has a risk of death, period.

Billions of people on the planet have a mother who didn't die.

Abortion has been around since the dawn of mankind.

As stated in the OP, abortion is a Hegelian Dialectic Topic designed to create conflict.

But the modern take on the subject is that it somehow "protects women's bodies"

I'm asking how it does this.
