All 3 of those things exist simultaneously. The body, mind, and spirit are not separate.

The body cannot be dead otherwise your mind and spirit would cease to exist.

If you want to get more philosophical about it. The spirit of "life" / "existence" enters the "human body" and is maintained by the "mind" which is a fabrication of the "brain".

When you hear someone "lost their mind" did they lose something physical? When you hear someone lost their body did they lose that "animating spirit" that is a precursor of existence?
