Love A24 films but have a feeling it will have too many overt political parallels to today political divide, and we all know on which side Hollywood and other media almost always falls on and which side or ideals are always framed as bad.

At least they tried with California and Texas being the bad guys instead of obviously pointing towards the south

Cute concept, but I don’t see US collapsing into a civil war situation anytime soon. International influence diminished as new players rise - maybe, but nothing dramatic like we see here. After all we haven’t seen a historical precedent from previous empires collapsing (eg Nazi Germany, Soviet Union)

US would just recall all troops stationed all over the world domestically (and potentially ask allies for help) to deal with riots and seceding states.

There is also very little sense for states to secede as they won’t be able to protect themselves politically, militarily and economically standalone vs malicious actors. Strength is in the numbers.
