Homelessness has long been a problem plaguing law abiding citizens in urban areas due to liberal policies that give the homeless free reign to harass, assault and be an eyesore for the more productive members of society.

Fellow pardians, if you had your way, what would be the solution to dealing with these people?

Personally I think mental institutions should be brought back and these people need to be involuntarily committed for their own safety and that of the general public.

Man that video had me rolling

See this anytime I'm in Chicago.

My idea would be government funded work projects for those who are capable of some form of labor so they can make some money. Better access to some form of health care for those not physically/mentally capable.

There's a homeless guy in Chicago I ran into who picks up GARBAGE everywhere and then uses a shopping cart to make a huge fuckin pile of trash and then has this sign that says something along the lines of, "throw me a buck i picked all this shit up"

I talked to him for a while and he was actually a nice dude. I told him I do what he does in the suburbs when I go for a jog/bike ride. Bring a small bag and pick up the larger pieces of trash. He's like, "Your community should pay you. People pay me".

He also said there's nothing to do as a homeless person besides that and it occupies his time and makes him feel like he's doing a good thing. He's lived in Chicago his whole life and admits he fell on hard times and that it's the least he can do. People do give him money and I did because he had a pile of trash almost 6-8 feet high and it wasn't his personables. Crazy

Mental health begins with increasing mental health psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses , aides, etc. , mental health workers

-no doc is going into psychiatry because the pay is shit relative
-you got nurse practitioners running a lot of these institutions really because there isn’t any other options which is pretty terrifying
-no nurses go into psych for the same reason
-if you can make more working at chipotle why would you be a med passer at a terrible institution

This is a fundamental problem here and I really don’t see a mechanism where this improves. It’s not about job availability clearly because there are still 2 jobs for every person that is actively looking for one

Build more homeless shelters and add some amenities (like internet connection, or providing hot meals, for example) so that people would want to live there instead of on the street.

X-treme bum fights

Could form teams sponsored by whatever drug company made the drug they are addicted to. Street drug addicts could be wild cards funded by the cartels. This would drastically reduce the population of homeless people and also create a new industry that would have huge pay per view potential. Deep state hire me!
