Here's to her long career in politics, starting from San Francisco board of supervisors in 1969 to becoming Mayor after the assassination of Moscone in 1978, then senator in 1992 and since, with her trademark legislation being the Federal Assault Weapons ban.

Don't worry, braoh, a new generation is rising !

We've been over this many times, but people in their 80s+ should strive to live out their life comfortably instead of clinging to power until the very last second. It's a disservice to this country and it's too important of a job.

she'll still get reelected

could have had a decent legacy (not necessarily regarding all of her political record, but as a trailblazer for women in american politics) if she had retired before she became just another old hag in the way of progress, holding on to power for as long as she can. the fact that she announced not to seek re-election again just barely mitigates that imo.

will ofc still be lionised by establishment dems and get some warm words from oldschool republicans, but realistically should have been out of politics for well over a decade...
