Yes it shows the current administration is much more serious about making a real legal threat to their opponent than the previous administration was. It doesn't change the fact that Trump was the first president in recent (if not all) US history to call for jailing the opposition. Seeing as how the only two parties in the US have both now engaged in this behaviour, it's safe to say this is the new way of doing politics in the US. I fully expect the next republican president to pursue charges against Biden, possibly even expanding the new custom by including other democrats. And of course the following democratic president will have to respond in kind with further escalation. Move over Hollywood the entire nation has become reality tv for the rest of the world.
