Not long enough for sexual assault in Italy. Though I do think the prosecutor is asking for a lot, putting a guy in prison for 3.5 years over a groping incident. What would an appropriate punishment for this look like anyway?

Many young people in Italy are expressing outrage on social media, after a judge cleared a school caretaker of groping a teenager, because it did not last long enough.

The case involves a 17-year-old student at a Rome high school.

She described walking up a staircase to class with a friend, when she felt her trousers fall down, a hand touching her buttocks and grabbing her underwear.

"Love, you know I was joking," the man told her when she turned around.

After the incident, which happened in April 2022, the student reported the caretaker, 66-year-old Antonio Avola, to police.

He admitted to groping the student without consent, but said it was a joke.

A Rome public prosecutor asked for a three-and-a-half year prison sentence but this week the caretaker was acquitted of sexual assault charges. According to the judges, what happened "does not constitute a crime" because it lasted less than 10 seconds.

they were trying to say he didnt get enough enjoyment and likewise she wasnt harmed enough. While an argument can be made from that perspective tying into the judges,

Clearly there is more spiritual things transpiring, mostly that those spirits above the law are all about diddling yes? as evidenced by the epstein scandal(s).

furthermore, duffman was always about casting out "boning spirits".

The just a prank excuse is beyond cringe. Sexual harassment like that should be punished immediately. But 3.5 years is a bit harsh. I would of given him 6mths and be put on sexual offenders registry.
This reminds me of if you steal a loaf of bread you get your hands chopped off and 5 years to rot in a dungeon cell back in the day. A bit too extreme. You want to punish people accordingly not turn them into malicious criminals who come out of prison with hatred for the system.

We should practice restorative justice and let the student be involved in determining appropriate consequence.
