In california I heard theres going to be law that is going to bring the childs gender affirmation identity into account in court cases where the child will be going either to the father or mother, and if one of the parent is Christian, and does not allow gender change, then that will be taken into account as equal to the safety and health of the child.

The parent being Christian doesn't enter into it. Lots of Christians respect their child's gender identity.

It's completely rational to take into account the parents attitude towards their child's gender identity since we know being in an unsupportive environment of that nature dramatically increases suicides.

I completely disagree. The child's gender identity should not matter. We should accept ourselves from who we are born as. Also children are not fully developed, and shouldn't make life changing decisions like that, which may increase suicidal ideation later on in life if they regret the decision to go through the mutilation surgery.

Surgery is not part of the law. The child's gender identity is not relavent. The relavent part is how supportive the parents are of the child's gender identity.

If you are a shit parent who tells your trans kid they aren't actually trans then you should have that weigh against you in court when deciding which parent should get custody.

This is the case because the overwhelming medical evidence shows poor outcomes when a child is raised in an environment that doesn't support their gender identity.



By the way, you already think this. If a mom went into court and said their son Timmy had to wear dresses and be called Tabitha at her house, and Timmy didn't like it and said he wasn't trans and mom was crazy, you would be totally on board with that being held against the mom.

The only reason you have an issue with this bill is because you care more about hurting trans people than ensuring children are treated with the best care possible.

I couldn't care less about trans people.

You can't take from parents the right to parentinng a kid who doesn't know better.

This is the larger problem with gender identity. We're born male or female. Deciding otherwise is a delusional fantasy, which makes it a mental health issue. These people are suffering from a mental illness and their delusional fantasy is being validated by people they choose to surround themselves with.

The internet is a prime example of a place where things that are simply not true can become validated in a person's mind.
