Turkey has press freedom index of 165 (Russia has 164). The two worses are China & North Korea ( 179 & 180) /180. In clear words: It's shit.
These elections were for sure unfair, coverage on TV or censorship in Social Media, easy jailing of political opponents...

More people voted for him than for the opposition. It's quite easy to understand...

The Turkish people made their choice, and by the looks of it, it wasn't all that close. So be it, now they have to live with the outcome.
Erdogan is awful, but the alternative was a charisma-less, old apparatchik who wasn't able to win over any Erdogan-voters. I already knew that the outcome of this election was sealed when Ekrem Imamoglu, the mayor of Istanbul, was arrested on flimsy charges and barred from running for the presidency. Erdogan's allure is dwindling, but not by enough to defeat him with a milquetoast, Biden-esque replacement-level candidate.
