There are reports of Russian civilians evacuating Crimea. Also reports of UAF retreating from Adkivka near Donetsk.
Ukrainians trained on western tanks/combat are returning to Ukraine in the coming weeks. At the same time Russian mobilized half a million men to hold the line.

I guess if Russia is throwing WW2 era tanks up against Challengers and Abrams then 500k infantry might be need to absorb some ammunition.

Russia are still making incremental gains in Bakhmut, it's just that the pace of operations has slowed in contrast to Feb.

UA Counter offensive will start in a month when mud season is over while new weapons continue to arrive. Seems the support to UA is planned to stay for years if needed.
I let you imagine Putin's position if another significant part of invaded territories is taken back this year. Along with sanctions effects which have a really big inertia.

What we can note down, imho, is the Russia-China meeting where it was clearly specified that nuclear weapons would not be moved out of national territory.
Few days later Putin broke this statement with tactical-nukes bombers in Belarus: MAYBE a proof that China is not willing to give military assistnace to its best friend (lol), at least not directly.
