If Trump was still president Putin wouldn't dare to invade Ukraine.
Now since USA has got a very weak and demented leader that even Putin can laugh at we now stand in this situation

It's long term assistance because of long term security concerns and EU along with US have big inertia on the process; imho considering the effort and decisions already done it can stay (humanitarian and military assistance) for years. So 3+ years support.
