Keep holding on hope. You'll get there sometime.... maybe.

All these moral victories are starting to add up!

You are looking at this from the wrong lens. Democrats ran was is arguably their best candidate against Ted Cruz - someone who literally kills people. They raised record amounts of money for Beto and he got the most favorable press a candidate has ever seen in recent memory - possibly ever. Beto was endorsed by anyone and everyone (D) and even managed to snag a few others. Fucking Willie Nelson came out and bent the knee and opened wide to Francis O'Rourke.

He still lost.He get's to keep his severance package of what i recall to be $70,000,000.00 for his efforts. What a fucking genius.

But it is Texas... All the money in the world isnt going to change the mind of hardened republicans. There is just simply more red and blue currently. All that money isnt going to suddenly bring more dems into the state. You can only look at the trend and the trend is moving left.

We'll have to wait and see. Greg Abbot won the governorship pretty easily. Texas is still very red IMO and we'll have to wait and see how purple it gets. The senate race might have just been a referendum on Cruz backed by everything dems could muster.

The day Texas goes blue is the day out country dies. I don't see that happening anytime soon, thankfully.

Please see post #988.

Beto is the hero democrats need! They should save him for 2024 when it's a fresh race. We'll see if he stays relevant without being in a high public office.

I see things how I see them. This guy is an artificially crafted candidate who was a blank slate and all the money you could imagine running against Ted Fucking Cruz. He lost.

i dont think you can logically think what you think even if its what you think.

Beto had to get in the race for the Dems to realize TX might be soft, and that they should invest. its not as if the money poured in before he got grassroots moving. He's got a big following in El Paso and did well enough that they invested.

you have to remember before the DNC even went in for him they were asking him to send them money. not the opposite. he isn't artificially made by the DNC, he got into a race in spite of the DNC.

this is an example of how inept the DNC is, not an example of the manufacturing a candidate to make up for a loss. i get what you're saying, it just doesnt line up to the timeline.

You're kind of ignoring the three house seats Dems picked up in Texas thanks to Beto voter turnout.

The real moral from this election is the increasing partisanship and untenable centrism. It was the blue dog senators and house rinos who got the ax.
I think a better visual is that the red wave and blue wave both existed, and they crashed into one another and everyone in the middle ded

/thread

but then again, if a rural red wave crashes into an urban blue wave, it will be the suburbs which decide who comes out ahead. and currently, the suburbs trend away from republicans. thats an issue they will have to address sooner rather than later.

What are you both talking about. I've died due to Trump's policy atleast 6 times so far.

Democrats would win every single presidential election if Texas reliably went for democrats. We'd have one party in power and that's no bueno.

districts for congress =/= Statewide Senate.

"i dont think you can logically think what you think even if its what you think. " What is this inception, PaRD style?

He was crafted as a savior by the DNC, media, and the democrats. I'm not sure how you can say he wasn't constructed from the ground up. People don't even know what he stands for in terms of policy for the most part. Just that he's the bright and shiny new candidate that will put an end to the Nazi Republicans.
