Rights group says Israeli strike on Gaza building killed 106 in apparent war crime (44 women, 18 men and 54 children : this doesn't make 106 but maybe it inclues the children who were playing outside)
https://apnews.com/article/israel-gaza-airstrike-hamas-war-palestinians-344bd8da0254e83eedd7245a593823d0

In late october.; I was thinking that... Yep people have phones and can record stuff:
"Human Rights Watch says it interviewed 16 people, including relatives of those killed in the attack, and analyzed satellite imagery, 35 photographs and 45 videos of the aftermath. It was unable to visit the site because Israel heavily restricts access to Gaza."

Will be harder to hide it. Does not sounds like the 40 decapitated babies story.

rafah when?

Various analysts have said at the end of Ramadan, so April 9th - 10th. next weekend at latest.

no idea what to expect, dont envisage block by block destruction at the moment (but would not put it past them down the road). I just cant figure out what Israel will do in this situation. I mean they cant "beat" hamas, they can just kill alot of people, and they are not, meaningfully, trying to get their hostages back. its weird. I dont see the path forward here.

beating hamas is like digging a hole. the more you dig, the bigger the hole gets.

Not wholly true. They can destroy much of what made Hamas a credible threat.

They cannot destroy the idea, granted.

BREAKING: The United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a
resolution calling for Israel to be held accountable for possible war
crimes and crimes against humanity committed in the Gaza Strip

https://www.reuters.com/world/un-rights-body-adopts-resolution-israel-accountability-possible-war-crimes-2024-04-05/

They also called for an arms embargo. Now we all know that this is a toothless resolution but it does put pressure on Israel to invade rafah because the ban on weapons sales might actually hurt.

Twenty-eight countries voted in favour, 13 abstained and six opposed the resolution, including the United States and Germany.

will try to get a list of the 13 abstentions and the 6 opposed, you know, to name and shame.

The 6 opposed:

The United States
Germany
Argentina
Bulgaria
Malawi
Paraguay

Abstentions: (trying to find complete list)

France
Japan

In Favor:

Belgium
Finland
Luxembourg

after much looking around i had to go beyond western media. thank god for Al Jazeera and their images (imagine a world where Al Jazeera was banned):

Writing in his Daily Mail column, Mr Johnson said it would be "insane" for the UK to end military support, which he said would be "willing the military defeat of Israel and the victory of Hamas".

Mr Johnson, a former foreign secretary, wrote: "Remember that in order to win this conflict, Hamas only has to survive. All they need at the end is to hang on, rebuild, and go again.

The above statement is accurate, as per your link. You either move on rafah, consequences be damned, or you continue getting sanctioned by the cucked out west.
