Why does it have to be an argument?
Its just new information. Hunter Biden, in his own words, said he was doing business with China's spy chief and that he had been mysteriously disappeared, and that he had been named in criminal cases.

If that was Donald Trump Jr talking about being in business with Russia's spy chief and that his business partners had been assassinated by Russia after becoming inconvenient and he was being named as a witness in criminal cases, I think the NYT would have a field day with it. Joe Biden is likely going to be elected president in a week, this scandal isn't just going to magically disappear after election day.

I don't see a media blackout as being sustainable once Biden is elected
Its not like they have a stranglehold on 100% of the media. Fox will play it, people will post about it on twitter / facebook / etc. They can do all the algorithmic censorship and trend suppression and mainstream blackout they want, but people are going to hear about it nonetheless. Right now we've got NPR saying completely shamelessly that they refuse to report on the story, because they're partisan hacks dressed up as journalists- but we're going to have 4 years of Joe, not just 2 weeks of laptop revelations.
At least Democrats will retain control of the house so the Republicans won't be able to impeach him on it. But if Republicans hold the senate, you better bet they'll be setting up investigations.

the tldr revelations are:

• Tony Bobulinksi personally met with Joe Biden in a bar in Beverly Hills on May 2nd, 2017 to discuss the Hunter Biden Chinese business, contradicting Joe's public denials
  
• Tony Bobulinski was Ye Jianming's personal representative to size up and arrange the deal with the Biden family
  
• The unidentified "chairman" of the Biden side of the business is indeed Joe Biden, and Hunter Biden referred to him as "my guy" and "my chairman" in texts/emails
  
• 10 days after Joe's meeting with Tony, the James Gilliar email detailing a compensation structure with 10% share going to Joe Biden was sent.

So Joe Biden was personally involved in setting up the Chinese deal that he lied about in public and said he had no knowledge of, and he was getting paid directly from it.
