Alaska's Governor (an Independent, but was a lifelong republican before 2014) and Lt. Governor BOTH oppose Kavanaugh's nomination, I have stated before, Murkowski is more likely to vote against Kavanaugh than Collins. If there is a defecting republican senator, it'll be Murkowski first. Not saying it's a definite or anything, but something to keep an eye on.

They've already predetermined how the vote is going to go down. Collins can likely vote yes and be safe, Murkowski will vote no, Manchin will vote yes and maybe McCaskill, too (esp if they decide to pull Collins at last moment). They won't use a Pence tie-breaker if they don't have to because this strategy allows them to keep everyone safe while claiming bipartisanship on the confirmation. I'll be very surprised if it doesn't end up very similar to this.

Republicans seem to have the votes to move forward with Brett Kavanaugh

It seems that the Republicans have the votes, with or without Murkowski.
I think a lot of these off the wall media sources are getting a little more "wishful" in their reporting, than they should be.

that's a shame because we all know republican politicians have no morals at all. if it were up to them, roy moore would be in the senate now, he had the emperor's endorsement.

so it really doesn't matter at all if kavanaugh attempted to rape someone in the past or not, there could be video evidence and they'd still confirm him for his pro corporation / anti choice / president is above the law (if republican) stance...

Yeah, we should all have morals like the Dems. Last minute accusations, that are probably fictitious anyway.
Yeah, that's it. Let's destroy a good judges life for no other reason than we are... big babies. :/

investigating this matter properly = 'destroying a good judges (so you KNOW he's innocent?) life' - i can tell you're totally not biased...

also, 'last minute' is a bit of a stretch considering he was only nominated recently. common sense would tell you that her accusations are probably NOT entirely made up: not only has she told a therapist about being raped back in 2012, she also has literally nothing to gain from this - if you assume she doesn't have a weird 'getting death threats from trump cultists, being dragged through the mud by 30% of the country, and slut-shamed by political hacks' fetish.
sure, based on what can be proven so far, republicans could still claim 'well, there was no 100% proof he did it', but that's why it has to be investigated. as a rational thinking human being with only a shred of decency you'd not just outright dismiss this and push for a vote.

then again, i'm not kidding myself into expecting you to have even an ounce of objectivity regarding this matter, let alone the ability to analyse this logically - just uncritically going along with the shameless and disgusting spins and character assassination attempts of the right is pretty much exactly what i expected from you anyway...
