So why is the democratic platform so highly against voting reform then? Even in the 2016/2012/2008 elections, there were hundreds of thousands of votes from people who'd been dead for years.
For a country that is highly "technologically" advanced, you cannot tell me our current system represents the 21st century.
E: Forgot.. Russia.
At a guess, power. If the chain of custody on ballots is locked down to a point where fraud is not possible, then there's the potential that people who currently have power could lose it and have no recourse.
But again, hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes is unlikely to be enough to sway a national election. It'd have to be in the millions, and there's no evidence this has ever occurred.
Meanwhile, the sale of magic mushrooms is about to become legal in Oregon, with 21+ age restrictions, yet politicians are still talking about attempting to reduce the voting age to 16, and are 100% against school vouchers that would provide funding for actual educational facilities as opposed to state-propaganda institutions.
It's a funny ol' world.
