One of the distinctions that should to be made here is that it is not appropriate, to comment on "Israeli's" inferring all of them, noting this is actually an absolute term (the same applies for Palestinians, and we should make the distinction between those living in Gaza vs those living in the West Bank). otherwise we should agree that general terms do not cause offense. what I mean is that while, as you say, normal Israeli's may have no ambition to see a "greater Israel", the fact remains that the Israeli Government, over decades, is pursuing policies which are leading to that end, with the forced displacement of the indigenous non-jewish people. regardless of "we were there first xxxx years ago" the fact remains there are people living there now, that are being expelled. There is an issue with the settlement of Israeli's. Over time it is resulting in the scenario that I outlined.
Referring to your comments: On the one hand you are saying the settlement are not going to stay, but then on the other hand you say that you need a winning picture, which involves them losing land. If your argument is that the Israeli government, or people, needs a win in Gaza, and that this involves Hamas ceding land, and Israel settling parts of Gaza, then if you extrapolate that over the next 50-100 years, whether you want it or not, then the result will be no non-jews in Gaza, or the West Bank.
To say that the newer settlements throughout "Greater Israel" are not going to stay, when already there are calls to settle in Gaza, seems unrealistic. From what I am reading, 8-10% of Israeli's already live in settlements in the Westbank. There is very little history of Israel abandoning settlements and to do so, and certainly not willingly. To my mind, to adopt policies that would do this, is political suicide. Can we look at this one step at a time.
i.e. a two state solution, looks impossible. returning to the 1967? borders looks impossible. My view is that from a cultural perspective there will never be a 2 state solution and there is no evidence to suggest anything other then what is happening over decades, which is the gradual and total eradication of the non jewish people throughout Israel, which is supported by your position that more and more land needs to be taken.
I am not sure if i should ask you a question as we are on shaky ground. why dont you ask us some questions and we can take it from there ?
The majority in control of the Israeli government even right wings
Have no intention of taking more land or ethnic clensing palestinians.
There are fanatics no doubt about it like in every population
But the vast majority like 99% of Israelis want them to leave us be
