It really doesn't. Growth of southern ice sheets do not downplay the significant decrease of northern ice sheets, which are much more important to weather patterns.

It does downplay quite a few views actually, and rather seems like a shift in weather patterns and temperates rather than a creating a totally unstable climate.

I love how an English major is basically just a major for talking out of your ass.

The number of natural disasters is increasing, there's another mass extinction event going on, there's plenty of reason to worry.

mass extinction is going on because of deforestation, not climate change...

Reefs are dying because of deforestation now?

Don't act like this is unrelated.

Except for all the species not in the rainforest.

You can't really talk about one without talking about the other. Deforestation contributes to climate change, and climate change contributes to extinctions elsewhere on the planet.

reefs are dying because of over fishing of species that balance the reef ecosystem, causing an imbalance and disturbing the balance of life there making them die out.

Climate change is something that is happening, and it is definitely an impact that we humans have created. This, however, does not mean I agree with its alarmist values. I don't think that the north is going to melt and cause a rush of cold water into the ocean currents and create a massive iceage.

I never knew that reading graphs was a "skill" some people do not have.

then you haven't met many people, even more common is the group who reads a graph and assumes it represents an objective truth.
