The specific day and time they chose for their run on the Capitol leaves no doubt what this was: a deliberate attempt at intimidation and obstruction of the members of Congress who were about to certify Biden's win over Trump. This was an attempt at overthrowing democracy using violent means, or at least the implicit threat of violence. Completely unacceptable.





I still dont get why Trump chose to go down this insane path instead of trying to pull a Grover Cleveland and running a 4-year long 'permanent campaign', with his beloved rallies and all of that. He's completely discredited now, his political career is over. Now, he will go down in history as a sore loser who'd rather burn everything down than keep on fighting. I just dont get it...

Thinking about it I think a warning shot was warranted before use of force. If there had been a warning shot and clear warning that escalation was going to happen, then I probably wouldn't care.

A civil war was fought for this same thing in 1865. If it comes to it(i hope it wont) and we have to fight for the constitution, civil liberty, separation of church and state against these fascist thugs then so be it.
