Kiev is not a warzone and Russia was given a heads up that Biden is coming. Biden going there is not noteworthy. Literally dozens of EU politicians and holywood stars have been to Kiev for photo shoots in the last year. What exactly is special about him going there that anyone should care about?
To answer the stupid questions, of course Kiev is a warzone, in the context that I'm using the term. Was Bagram airbase not a warzone when presidents visited it? Sure, it hadn't been bombed in quite a while, but it's inside of a country where a war is going on. Russia is at war with Ukraine, and they have the capability to bomb Kiev. In the initial invasion they tried to overthrow Kiev. Kiev is not secured by the American military. Thus, he visited a warzone that the American military does not control.
I don't know why the US government giving Russia a heads up for deconfliction purposes is relevant here. Actually, that point simply works in my favor. What's there to deconflict if the area isn't a war zone? Lol.
Sure, other high profile people have rightly visited Kiev in order to support a sovereign government repelling an unjust invasion by a neighboring superpower. Obviously Russia has calculated that bombing Kiev further at this moment in the war is not in their interests. But so what? The American president isn't Sean Penn, or even the UK prime minister. His protection is much more important than those figures, and if he were to be killed, the consequences would be exponentially worse. Russia killing Biden in Ukraine could very easily result in World War 3, much more easily than America sending them military equipment. Why is a Trumpist isolationist not able to understand that?
I know you're pretending to be stupid on the last point, but I'll answer for anyone who might want to know. An American president visiting a war zone(which is not secured by the American military) is a big deal because it signals our support with Ukraine and our opposition to adversarial governments invading their neighbors. The American-led global order has been such a success because we deter actors like Russia, China, and others from doing this sort of thing. War is bad for people, countries, regions, and the world. So, if Russia were to successfully invade Ukraine and overthrow the government, while the West simply watches(which is what you and other Trump cultists support), it would have consequences beyond this conflict. The world would be more violent, less prosperous, and less free.
I understand this requires some critical thinking, and more nuance than slogans like "America First" and "war is bad mkay". But it happens to be the truth.
