The libertarians turning into a cult of Trump, or at least a cult of anti-anti-Trumpism, is one of the most hilarious political shifts in the last few years, tbh. Trump not only managed to decimate the credibility of Republicans... he also did it with the only other (somewhat) relevant right-wing party in America.

Just gonna point out that this has always been the point of "Libertarians". Attack Democrats, crickets against Republicans. Was that way since at least ~2006 when I started following politics.

Unfortunately these trends need to be kicked into hyperdrive before most people start to see them.

I would be surprised if that was the case for most of the Bush presidency, as he was the guy who started two wars and signed the Patriot Act.

But clearly the case now is that libertarians provide cover for the Republican president, regardless of how they govern. And what's interesting to me is how these people buy into every Trump-cult talking point. They'll devote hours to explaining how, while they don't support Trump, the Ukrainegate scandal was completely manufactured and Trump didn't do anything wrong. It's the same with Russiagate.
