Do we really have to pretend that every classified document is equal, and every executive response to a DOJ request to retrieve classified documents is equal? I think we're more sophisticated than that, aren't we?
I understand muddying the waters is beneficial for Trump, because he consciously stole classified documents and obstructed the governments attempt to retrieve them. But does that force Trump supporters to spread bullshit on PaRD?
After the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago, the usual Trump critics in the media and also here on PaRD kept hammering that bad intent and the actual content of the classified documents Trump possessed don't even matter, that the sheer possession is a VeRy SeRiOuS crime and would get an ordinary dude into prison.
Biden himself also made a similar argument:
Quote
"When you saw the photograph of the top secret documents laid out on the floor at Mar-a-Lago, what did you think to yourself looking at that image?" CBS' Scott Pelley asked.
"How that could possibly happen, how one anyone could be that irresponsible," Biden responded. "And I thought what data was in there that may compromise sources and methods. By that, I mean, names of people helped or et cetera."
"And it's just totally irresponsible," Biden added.
"How could that possibly happen, how can anyone be that irresponsible" - said the man who had been mishandling and forgetting a much larger volume of classified documents for almost half a fucking century!

So accuse of me muddying the waters or intentionally taking undifferentiated viewpoints all you want - I'm essentially just holding Biden to the standard that
he himself had established. No amount of questioning my motives can argue away the glaring, undeniable hypocrisy.
