Yeah, and I just came home and have no motivation whatsoever to read through 10+ pages that I missed and filter out the <1 pages of worthwhile content.

to be fair, a SCOTUS judge has about 1000 times more impact on the direction of the country and the everyday life of its citizens than Keith Ellison.

welcome to the guys that are ok with physical abuse for acknowledging that club

Means nothing.

He's the head of a major political party, and the evidence against him actually exists. He's a democrat, so it's not relevant.

Obvious shit is obvious.

I agree that objectively speaking, the allegations against Ellison should have made bigger waves. That they didnt imho mostly shows how little the general public cares about the guy. And he only is "the head of the democratic party" in a bureaucratic sense, definitely not in a political sense.

Shouldn't we play by the same rules? Of course BK is going to more influential than Ellision.

Doesn't make Ellision's ex GF's accusations any less important - especially considering there is evidence to support this happened.

on one hand i'd ask, what rules? the rule that you can't write another story about a prominent republican until you write one about a democrat, so it's even.

on the other hand 1 million and 2 thousand are a bit apart from each other.

on my third hand i wonder if anyone knew who either were before they were appointed.

well, another important distinction between the two is that Ellison can be removed from his position if hard proof for the allegations against him emerges, or if further allegations come up. Kavanaugh, on the other hand, will be appointed for life and incredibly hard to remove from his position once he's confirmed. Basically, congress as the overseeing body has to get his vetting right this time around, because there wont be a second chance.

I consider the allegations against him a shady smear campaign, and want to see him confirmed. But I can understand the hesitation and care the Senate is putting into this.

They're the same moronic person. Perez panders to the old dems and Ellison panders to the new socialists.

Its important we do not evaluate this from the mindset of a rational and healthy human being, but try to get inside the mind of those who created this narrative

I know very little about what grounds a SC justice can be "removed" from his/her seat. Now i'm curious and might google it later.

My gut tells me that a crime like rape would be a pretty surefire expulsion from the court..... but who knows. If it came out that Ruth Darth Vader Ginsburg killed someone 30 years ago - she'd be booted.
