You don't know that. We lived in a world without wiki leaks

If anything, the DNC probably would have titled the odds slightly in Hillary Clinton's favor in 2008 and not Obama's, seeing as the Clintons are a political dynasty and she probably represented the best chance for the Democrats to win in 2008 at the start of the primaries since Obama didn't have nearly the brand or name recognition that she did. After it was clear Obama was the better choice, though, I'm sure the DNC was fine with rolling with him.

There's a much smaller difference between two establishment Democrats and an establishment Democrat vs a political independent who caucuses with Democrats.

I think there were people pulling strings on both sides for that 2008 election. i agree that the presence of a progressive independent exacerbated it. That's the crux of a 2 party system, all candidates need a general pivot to maximize voting blocks, and a pivot from progressive to moderate was simply too much of a gap. I personally feel that the DNC did the right thing by keeping Bernie from winning and succeeded where the GOP failed. That is putting up a candidate who has a 40% glass ceiling and a lot of begrudged votes. Sure they could have rolled the dice on Bernie but with Trump's campaign being a good comparison i doubt it would have worked.

Was driving home wondering why the traffic was absolute aids and then I found out Trump is holding a rally in my city lol and I live near the fairgrounds he's holding it at.

Got a few friends who are probably going to it.

This election needs to end.

They didn't need to undermine Bernie Sanders' campaign, he would have lost fair and square anyway via democracy - even if you factor out superdelegates and the like. She would have gotten more votes anyway. Now they just look shitty for violating their own bylaws and rigging a primary against a fringe independent with low name recognition entering the race against a political powerhouse and the "most qualified presidential candidate in history."

hmm what is it they say about hindsight again?

people often look silly given hindsight, lucky for them they didn't have it in real time, so they aren't actually nearly as silly.

HRC has incredibly high negative numbers for likability, and her campaign against Barry in 2008 left her pretty bruised up. She's also married to one of the more controversial presidents ever when it comes to sanctity of the oval office and she played a pretty public role in the aftermath.

Without the superdelagates HRC would have won, but it would have been a nailbiter and way too close for comfort for a lot of establishment people. Plus a close victory by HRC over a radical like Bernie could leave the party with questionable direction after the election the same way Trump has fragmented the GOP base. If he's trounced people just say "well i guess its not time yet", rather than "next election we make it happen".

God I hate quoting a source called "thedailysheeple," but it really does help when they link their sources. This author really thinks Trump is a Clinton plant, and they give a pretty good reasoning as to why: http://www.thedailysheeple.com/saving-america-no-donald-trump-is-a-clinton-distraction-tactic_082015

I would be extremely impressed if he was a Clinton plant.
