progressives need to do a better job at selling a progressive candidate. bernie was never a good sell.

It's a moot point by now. If Biden wins this year, then either him or his VP will be the nominee in 2024. If Biden loses, AOC will be the nominee in 2024.

they need the platform of a progressive with personality that's less 'blustery' and more 'charming', but definitely not 'bland'. Elizabeth Warren is a cheese and bread sandwitch with a side of no-salt fries and a distilled water to wash it down. i've seen more personality on dead frogs.

honestly someone close to Pete Butigieg with a bit more polish, less robotic answers, and a bit more progressive ideas.

that's from a candidate standpoint, from a policy standpoint they also need to do a better job at owning the costs of their ideas. it took years for Bernie to finally address this with his "your total costs will go down" answer, followed by a sheeping "yes" to "will taxes go up on the middle class". spreadsheets, graphs, etc. make the math work, and make it public.

edit: also and i'll be happy to be wrong, AOC will never win the nomination. she's a female Cory Booker. her eyes alone are unelectible.

Warren's not even in the picture. She can continue cheerfully fucking over her own state, everyone else is just glad she's not their shitshow.

I mean, it kind of has been for going on 10 years now. Moderate Dems have been losing seats to socialist nutjobs or republicans since the first midterm election after Obama got elected.

Obama was great for Democratic influence in the Executive Branch Bureaucracy. But it's been nearly solid losses for the party as a whole since he was elected. What worked for Obama doesn't work for the DNC.

I almost think Biden NEEDS to lose so the Dems can take 3 long steps back and figure out their platform. If they fold and become the Modern US Socialist platform, then it'll become a split, and the 2 party system might actually break. That might be a good thing.

Btw, they were already close this primary season when Castro proposed free abortions for transgender women and Beto said "hell yes, we're gonna come for your guns". In this day and age, both sides have a habit of turning into the malicious, mocking memes the other side made about them a couple of years earlier. I'm sure there were some liberals at the height of the birther movement in 2011 jokingly saying "The GOP is gonna nominate Trump for president, lol. .... and knowing my fellow Americans, he might actually will roflmao".
