Yep. Don't give folks a chance to think about the 6-7 months of rioting, looting, burning, murdering.
Instead keep the lime light focused on a one day protest where ONE person died and 4 passed of natural causes. :/

In an attempt to overthrow the results of a legitimate election, which directly threatened a convened Senate. But keep dancing around the elephant in the room.

When 5 swing states ALL have trouble counting votes on election night.... there's fraud going on.

THAT is the elephant in the room.

They had trouble counting votes on election night BECAUSE REPUBLICANS MADE IT ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO START COUNTING VOTES UNTIL AFTER POLLS CLOSED.

This was unprecedented and was never an issue.

Gonna all caps and bold this so you can read it without your glasses

REPUBLICANS MADE THE RULES PURPOSEFULLY TO CREATE DIFFICULTY MAKING A FAST VOTE COUNT SO THEY COULD PRETEND THERE'S FRAUD IN CASE TRUMP LOST.

If you ask me, most of the GOP wanted Trump to lose and shit the bed on purpose.

Why else would they pass such stupid laws before an election?

The election went almost ideal from the point of view of the (old) party establishment: Trump exceeds expectations, his coattails save the Senate and put the GOP in position to take back the House, but he himself still loses by a sufficiently clear margin.
If he had quietly faded into the background, they could have co-opted his policies and presented them with a less polarizing and erratic messenger. And without Trump's antics, they would presumably have won at least one of the Georgia runoffs, rendering Biden a lame duck since inauguration day.

Sure, had 2020 been a more empathic rejection of Trump by the electorate, he wouldnt have survived politically and gone away for good. But I dont see how 2020 being a landslide, with the GOP ending up in a deep hole in both the House and Senate, would have been a preferable outcome to what we got. Everything played out fine on Nov 3rd for both sides of the GOP, the Trumpists and the swampy establishment Republicans like McConnell. But then Trump couldnt let it go and dramatically overplayed his hand with the election fraud stuff, culminating in the blown GA runoffs and the storming of the Capitol.

It's pretty damn obvious. They wanted to cast doubt on the validity of the election by challenging mail-in votes. There was an entire campaign to restrict mail-in voting, restrict voting in Dem leaning districts, to do shit like making all of Dallas have one drop box, to restrict when mail-in votes could be received even if they had been in the posession of the post office since before the election...

I personally outlined all of this on the forum as it was happening. I made dozens of posts pointing it out.

It's really obvious why they did what they did.

Was the primary motivation really to preemptively cast doubt on mail ballots, or was it rather that the GOP thought easy mail-in voting would increase turnout and make ballot harvesting/gotv operations easier?
For Trump it was the former, he was scared shitless of having to own a thumping loss and the damage that would do to his brand. But for the rest of the GOP? I'm not so sure. Winning elections and limiting potential losses seems a more reasonable explanation for why congressional and state level Republicans tried to limit mail voting.
