Cori Bush is also a registered nurse, so she should know better. What's even more funny is that she has constantly demanded politics to "follow the science" when it came to covid. Well, the faith-healing phone session with her guru to cure her own covid infection doesn't strike me as particularly scientific.
But you're of course right - demagoguery and the spread of inciting narratives by people who have a big platform as elected officials is more dangerous and despicable than generic craziness which stays limited to one's private life.
And yes, Trump's mountain of lies about the stolen election which ultimately led to the storming of the Capitol is a prime example for that.
one of the better reasons to just ignore the furthest fringe, the most crazy are the least dangerous. centrists arent dangerous. but in between we find people who can sway others with ideas that are often misleading and/or dangerous.
on police reform we have tweener lefties trying to further narratives that being a black male is a death sentence and that following police orders is optional, on the right we have liars claiming being a cop is a death sentence and a terribly dangerous job that justifies them being trigger happy stressed out goons. both lies.
i just have a hard time making a balanced assessment of the election fraud issue. we have dangerous liars on the right and people on the left simply exaggerating how safe the voting process is. ironically 4 years after claiming it was wide open to Russian interference AND 4 years of claiming trump failed to bolster security for the next election. then he loses and all of a sudden its perfectly secure. still a less dangerous idea than Soros/Chavez funded vote swapping machines based on sworn affidavits of people who refused to show up in court, Rudi could only herd the whackos. and not a single person with voting machine expertise, just one whacked out IT lady who prob cant do more than reset routers and install Microsoft Office from CD.
