I'm curious about the planet if all countries have been like Japan.

Japanese corporate culture is even worse than ours. The 80 hour work week is the reason why noone gets married there. And if the senior management identifies you as a straggler, they metaphorically lynch you in public and blacklist you behind the scenes.

A couple more decades left before the plague becomes insurmountable.

----

(AP) — The U.S. became more diverse and more urban over the past decade, and the white population dropped for the first time on record, the Census Bureau said Thursday as it released a trove of demographic data that will be used to redraw the nation's political maps.

The new figures offered the most detailed portrait yet of how the country has changed since 2010, and they are sure to set off an intense partisan battle over representation at a time of deep national division and fights over voting rights. The numbers could help determine control of the House in the 2022 elections and provide an electoral edge for years to come. The data will also shape how $1.5 trillion in annual federal spending is distributed.

The figures show continued migration to the South and West at the expense of counties in the Midwest and Northeast. The share of the white population fell from 63.7% in 2010 to 57.8% in 2020, the lowest on record, though white people continue to be the most prevalent racial or ethnic group. However, that changed in California, where Hispanics became the largest racial or ethnic group, growing to 39.4% from 37.6% over the decade, while the share of white people dropped from 40.1% to 34.7%.

“The U.S. population is much more multiracial and much more racially and ethnically diverse than what we have measured in the past," said Nicholas Jones, a Census Bureau official.

Joe Biden Ties Capitol Riot To Charlottesville Violence On 4th Anniversary Of The Rally

President Joe Biden on Thursday asked Americans to come together on the fourth anniversary of the violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, and said more work needs to be done in light of the attack on the U.S. Capitol earlier this year.

“[We] know there is more work we must do as a nation — as we saw with the mob of insurrectionists at the United States Capitol on January 6th that joins the horror we saw in Charlottesville as shameful chapters in our history,” the president said in a statement.

Four years ago — on Aug. 11 and 12, 2017 — neo-Nazis and white supremacists took to the streets of Charlottesville for the “Unite The Right” rally. Heather Heyer, 32, was killed when James Alex Fields Jr. drove his car into a crowd of counterprotesters at the event. Fields was later sentenced to life in prison.

“The most lethal terrorist threat to our homeland in recent years has been domestic terrorism rooted in white supremacy,” Biden said. “We cannot ignore it. We must confront the spread of hate-fueled violence in every form.”

Some of the very same people who participated in the Charlottesville unrest went on to storm the Capitol in an effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election. For example, far-right activist Tim “Baked Alaska” Gionet both addressed the crowd in Charlottesville and livestreamed himself inside the Capitol on Jan. 6. He was later arrested by the FBI.

Should I do a segment here on murder and property crime rates by Demographic and slowly explain why white supremacy isn't a threat to anyone? Or is that too high level.
