if the bavarian branch of her party will not back out she might not even last this month

the situation is very confusing right now, its reported that the minister of the interior, seehofer, is planning to resign
if that happens merkel will continue to do whatever she wants

i do hope they will hold their ground

update

they really did it again, all this drama and all we get is a compromise between merkel and seehofer
the plan is now to have transit zones at the border, where migrants wouldnt be allowed to leave, get their procedure and in case they are rejected--->deportation
sounds nice, but we all know this will never work
especially the part about detaining these migrants

long story short, huge for drama for nothing and things will go on just like they do now

now the upcoming bavarian elections will probably be really painful, the csu and seehofer have lost all of their remaining credibility

the clock is still ticking for merkel

An amazing deal for the UK would compound the EU's own failures and other countries could follow us as a result, and they know that. The EU has to punish us to assert their authority.

While EU member states like Germany and France will be negatively impacted by a no deal brexit, the proportion of their trade with the UK is far smaller than the UK's trade with the EU as a bloc, which is a key factor. We may import 50% of goods from the EU but it's spread across several countries and therefore reduces the economic risk to the EU.

the EU will collapse either way, you guys just need to watch and be sure to come out on top

Yep, prolly like last time when you said france will be overflowed by protests regarding the SNCF (French National Railway Company) changes.

You and the other clown posting memes are bad jokes (but not as bad as your gas chamber pranks) only able to bark "migrants!" "migrants!" "migrants!" 24/7

We tried to "bark migrants" only once a week, but we couldn't keep up.

the biggest irony in all of this is that the whole deal was only affecting around 3% of the immigrants on german borders to begin with - otherwise, detaining them for weeks or potentially months in those "transit centres" wouldnt be feasible logistically. so to anyone who thinks rationally about it for just one second, the compromise they have struck exposes the whole dispute to be a distraction for the bavarian voters.

the CSU thinks that their voters will remember two things in the voting booth: that the CSU was fighting for "border controls" and "rejections of asylum seekers at the border"; and that they went to the brink of blowing up the government coalition to push this through. they seriously think their voters are retards who wont notice that 97% of asylum seekers (99% of which would have to be rejected at German borders if our fucking goverment would act on applicable fucking law) are completely unaffected by those transit centres.

i absolutely hate conspiracy theories, but they have done a lot to give the impression that the entire thing was just a show, including threatening to retire and all that
seehofer has pulled something similar some 15 years ago

i hope the bavarian afd will keep their heads low now and this might become a massacre at the upcoming election

and yeah, its mind boggling that we are discussing about violating and twisting existing laws, both ours and european

That's an option: a centralized EU refugee facility, or better: "immigration processing/concentration camp" next to creating refugee centers in north Africa, outside of the EU and our laws and legislation.

The irony that all these measures are treating the symptoms of the increasing displacement of ppl (immigrants) throughout the world. It's all mitigation without much prevention. I'd wish that ppl who are against immigrants would discuss more about how to prevent it.

there is a simple solution to prevent most of it

restrict the german welfare state, because its the biggest incentive of them all
actual refugees do not come all the way to europe as they are not able to

however hundreds of thousands of fighting age male migrants want the lifelong instant pension merkel has promised them
there is no need for any kind of facility, ship these people back and be done with it, end of story
