meanwhile in germany the conflict between merkel and our minister of the interior seehofer could escalate any minute now as he called the latest talk with "useless"

the eu meeting accomplished nothing despite merkel and her minions claiming otherwise for a while, even saying that 14 states were part of an agreement, which poland, czech republic and hungary immediately denied
its so pathetic

she only survived so long because all her rivals know that being prime minister will be a losing job for the next couple of years until the brexit mess is settled. better leave theresa in charge and take all the blame for everything that goes wrong, then stab her in the back when the time is right.

well, but it could also be a huge opportunity for the right guy
no risk no fun

Interesting article on Italy and the Eurozone by Joseph Stiglitz, a well known left wing economist. The eurozone has failed and needs to be disbanded

good input
actual economists have always warned that the eurozone cant work, but it has become an ideological project and so far only banks and large corporations are profiting
the ILLEGAL policy of the last years (thanks merkel) has brought us into a situation where you cant go back without causing massive damage

what the article is missing is the fact, that italy leaving would lead to a collapse of the european economy
and the myth of germany profiting would be exposed for what it is, fake news

italy alone owes the german federal bank over 400 billion with the target2 system, that and much more would simply disappear
i will not accept any kind of blame for us germans simply being more talented than others and producing high quality stuff, however low wages and all of being financed by debt are the price for a lot of it
the author is correct there

unfortunately its not about facts anymore, the EU and other globalists will try and save its precious currency at all costs as their united states of europe utopia depends on it

you can thank all gods that you are not a part of this madness

Merkel really needs to go. When is she likely to go, could it be within a year or 2?

if the bavarian branch of her party will not back out she might not even last this month

the situation is very confusing right now, its reported that the minister of the interior, seehofer, is planning to resign
if that happens merkel will continue to do whatever she wants

i do hope they will hold their ground

An amazing deal for the UK would compound the EU's own failures and other countries could follow us as a result, and they know that. The EU has to punish us to assert their authority.

While EU member states like Germany and France will be negatively impacted by a no deal brexit, the proportion of their trade with the UK is far smaller than the UK's trade with the EU as a bloc, which is a key factor. We may import 50% of goods from the EU but it's spread across several countries and therefore reduces the economic risk to the EU.
