Hispanic people appreciate im sure that someone knows more about their culture than a taco bell menu, white people view it as a gotcha moment and facepalm. in reality tacos are an incredibly diverse food item that is held together by a common thread of features, much like hispanic people. crispy vs soft, corn vs flour, any wide variety of meats and salsas. to white people they all look the same, to hispanic people they're no more similar than a hamburger and a hot dog.

I guess we just disagree then. Look, I'm not saying this is a biggie or will move votes, but in my eyes, a white liberal who has very little contact with the latino community in her everyday life trying to pander and coming up with "hispanics are as unique as tacos", of all things, is indicative of the subconscious racial bias that these types harbor. It's imho very similar in principle to her husband's remark that "poor kids are just as bright and talented as white kids".
