Jumping into conclusion based on nothing but your own “common sense” is not the correct way building an argument.
No one wants to punish the Gazans. But it so happened to be that a lot of them are damn Hamas supporters. Some of them even participated in 10/7 and held hostages at their house..

The article only reinforces my thinking. Hamas being defeated is a foregone conclusion at this point, it's just a matter of when. I still believe that the events going down in the ME (mainly Iran supplying the weapons trying to kill you) are more important to Israeli security than anything happening in Gaza. Hezbollah has been destroying major Israeli military sites in the north for too long and some point the focus has to shift to defeating hezb and the Tehran pipeline.

No. Carpet bombing is not effective against tunnels. If it were, both Korea and Vietnam would have been easy.

Nukes would destroy the tunnel system. As I said, your understanding of military strategy is not the best. That's not an insult. Just pointing out why your unreasonable expectations are unreasonable.

So your argument is that the only way to beat hamas in two weeks is to nuke Gaza? I also never said that carpet bombing was a viable strategy. You do realize that the tunnels span the entirety of Gaza right? One nuke wouldn't be enough.
I'm not saying that the idf could dismantle the tunnel system in two weeks but I am surprised about the overall length of this operation, it's almost month 5 and hamas is still at it.

So to keep this going: how do you think the idf should finish Gaza and start the Lebanon affair? This is the obvious next phase of the war so I'm interested to hear your thoughts

That was my point, yes. If it weren't for the tunnel system, carpet bombing would have been enough. But with the tunnels, it's either Nukes or MOABs or a combination of the two, or a slow, painstaking clearing of the tunnels.

And the fight isn't against "Hamas" any more than war against the US would be a fight against "The Bidens". Hamas is the GOVERNMENT of Gaza. The October invasion of Israel was a full out act of war. During a ceasefire.

Israel is not waging a humanitarian effort. They're trying to wipe out all militant elements of the entire Gazan society. That takes a fucking second, do you understand?

Edit: Talking Hezbollah? That's a slow burner. Hamas is more immediate. But Israel is prepared for an all-sided war. They've fought them in the past. They're good at it. I'm not worried about them at all.

The fight isn't against hamas, you are correct. The fight is against the deadly assault women and children, this is why Israel has killed them.

It doesn't take 5 fucking months to quell a prison riot my friend. These guys have aks, rpg7s and a handful of mines and snipers. 5 months later and and no one can argue with me that hamas' domestic production of rpgs has been diminished in anyway (this will change in rafah)

Your edit proves to me that you don't know how bad northern Galilee has been affected from hezbollah. Hezbollah and Yemen have done infinitely more damage to israel than hamas. Israel didnt level anything I’v been there I saw with my own eyes there are areas that are completely destroyed specially in the north But no all of it.
