The thing is you would think that on the surface, but it will lead to stagnation since the upper class don't spend the percentage of their income like the middle class does. You will get much more economic activity from elevating the lower class at the cost of the upper class.

Those are all true statements about the national economy and I have no criticisms with your comment, but I still want to acknowledge that I did indeed read your reply. I was more thinking about it on a personal level as opposed to a national one.

But you've also got to consider they spend way more in units of currency than the lower or middle class, even if they're spending a lower % of their disposable income

I think abot your mom more on a personal level as opposed to a national one, which is the level she usually thinks.

They may spend 10,000 more than they would have in the middle class, but they're making say 40,000 more than the middle class so 30,000 is sitting in the bank not doing anything. Distribute that 40,000 to the middle class and 30,000 would be spent.

Raw numbers come out to the same result.
