Trump people are really becoming the boy who cried wolf with the constant complaining about media bias.
It's really pathetic how many God-fearing men and women are coming on television defending a scumbag. I'm trying to figure out a way Republicans rebound from this election but I can't see it... there's too many nutty, anti-intellectuals in our party to move forward in a positive way. If Republicans nominate another person who can't win in 2020 I'll be voting for Hillary again.
IceMage, I found a pretty good article explaining the Trump phenomenon.
http://www.cracked.com/blog/6-reasons-trumps-rise-that-no-one-talks-about/I grew up in the suburbs my whole life so I was never really exposed to the rural way of life outside of visiting my grandpa in central Florida. However, I can definitely empathize with them because neither party addresses their problems. They irrationally support Trump because he's the only one who is bringing their issues into the spotlight.
I remember when Obama completely took a shit on them in the 2008 primaries (Hillary took advantage of this and swept up all the rural counties). I really can't blame them for hating Obama because he really is a person who doesn't care about rural issues.
As for policy, I'm not sure how you can address this. There would be a clear flow of tax revenue moving away from the cities. Infrastructure projects would be very inefficient. Will Americans be ok with that? I highly doubt it. Regardless, Trump is a symptom of a very serious problem.
