Israeli birds are finally starting to soften targets in rafah. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, Al sisi might have to use those 2k Abrams to quench an Egyptian revolt

Two hostages have been rescued from Rafah.
Seems that operating in rafah pays off.

What critics of Israel's campaign actually mean, but don't dare to say out loud, is that the lives of a couple dozen hostages in their eyes isn't worth the three of even four figure number of civilian casualties that an operation in a densely populated urban setting like Rafah would cause. "Give up on freeing the hostages (or eradicating the military infrastructure of Hamas) to protect Palestinian lives" is the gist of their argument.

Yes.
I don’t think people outside of Israel understands how the public here feels. The public wants to put an end to the threat. This goal will only be achieved after eradicating Hamas’s abilities. The public will not accept anything less, regardless on how much international pressure is put on Israel. If our current leaders won’t see it through they will be replaced.
Now the whole world is terrified from Israel to operate in rafah. IMO it is inevitable. Can only be delayed by a ceasefire of some sort but it will happen.

Well, I agree with the international sentiment to the extent that a lot of the civilians have to be evacuated from Rafah before the military starts properly striking the place. Some 1 million internally displaced persons are currently in the region, you can't possibly bomb them all into the ground without at least trying to get most civilians out of there. Which is of course an operational challenge, not just logistically but also when it comes to weeding out Hamas fighters who try to pose as innocent civilians.

Something they should have thought about before launching a rape campaign on the toughest most technologically advanced superpower in the middle east.

I know egypts been moving tanks and s300s near the border and that they are saying that the 79' Accord would be broken but how likely do you think the chances are that Egypt makes a move?

I think they said the peace accord would be suspended. It seems that is the Egyptians trying to leverage Israel towards what is best for Egypt.

There would not be an actual "move" by Egypt against Israel, they are close security partners currently.

But if Israel does push the boundaries by "invading" Rafah it would be a highly isolating move by the Israelis.

Ya the only way I believe the Mexican president of Egypt makes a move is if Israel actually pushes gazans into Egypt. If that happens and sisi stands down, you could be looking at mass desertions from the Egyptian military, which Iran could easily take advantage of.
