And again, deaths aren't the only metric. Lots of missed labor time, overwhelmed healthcare systems, and long-term side effects that are going to be happening in all ages.

The same stuff that we knew would work at the start will continue to work. Mask up, sanitize frequently, don't gather in large numbers, test frequently, isolate and trace contacts for known infections. Lockdowns are a last resort for when you just didn't do any of the other cheaper options.
Test trace and isolate is completely unfeasible with 2m+ daily infections (once we factor in the dark figure). Even the isolate part alone is not feasible in rural India. People in rural India or the slums of the big cities cannot stay home for 2 weeks, and the families are living so closely together that isolating them also doesnt work in most cases.
Like I said: lockdowns are not an option in a place like India. If masking and banning mass events is not enough, I'm kinda out of ideas tbh.
