And from that fresh article...

The White House can respond to committee demands by citing executive privilege in some circumstances, but that will likely result in court battles.

...and who, pretty much controls the courts now? That's right, the conservatives.

/e But I have to admit, it was much nicer reading the Reuters article, than the VOX article you were slobbering over earlier. :D

We know that. The Dems have been doing that for two years. Good thing the Supreme Court keeps smacking them down. ^^

This is a comprehensive list of all Article III and Article IV United States federal judges appointed by Donald Trump during his presidency, as well as a partial list of Article I federal judicial appointments, excluding appointments to the District of Columbia judiciary.[1]

As of November 4, 2018, the United States Senate has confirmed 84 Article III judges nominated by President Trump, including 2 Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, 29 judges for the United States Courts of Appeals, 53 judges for the United States District Courts, and 0 judges for the United States Court of International Trade.[2] There are currently 57 nominations to Article III courts awaiting Senate action, including 7 for the Courts of Appeals, 48 for the District Courts, and 2 for the Court of International Trade.[3] There are currently 11 vacancies on the U.S. Courts of Appeals, 111 vacancies on the U.S. District Courts, 2 vacancies on the U.S. Court of International Trade,[3] and 20 announced federal judicial vacancies that will occur before the end of Trump's first term (4 for the Courts of Appeals and 16 for District Courts).[4] Trump has not made any recess appointments to the federal courts.

In terms of Article I courts, as of August 28, 2018, the Senate has confirmed 7 judges nominated by Trump, including 2 for the United States Tax Court, 4 for the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and 1 for the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. There are currently 8 nominations to Article I courts awaiting Senate action, including 3 for the United States Court of Federal Claims, 4 for the Tax Court and 1 for the United States Court of Military Commission Review. Trump designated Susan G. Braden and Margaret M. Sweeney as chief judges of the Court of Federal Claims.

In terms of Article IV territorial courts, Trump has not made any appointments or elevated any judges to the position of chief judge.

And look, they are just awaiting Senate approval. Senate you say? Why yes, the Senate.

what are you even talking about?

the House has only been republican for 8 years, while it had been controlled by the Democrats (with two very very brief interruptions) from 1932 to 1994 and was swingy since then.

and even a few months ago, holding the house looked like an uphill battle for the GOP, not "inconceivable to lose".

You're new to American politics and minimizing a huge loss.

Your interest, even glee in this, is pretty strange. You'd think that these teeny countrie's ages would put them above this sort of behavior. :/

You can't control anything w/o the Senate. Laws can be drawn up in either chamber, both have to vote FOR the laws. Trump still has EO's and the courts to back his EO's.

Trump thinks EOs will rewrite the Constitution and a majority of Supreme Judges won't allow that kind of power grab from them. He can sign his little whitening executive orders but nothing big is going to happen through them because executive orders are small by nature. If Trump does anything through executive order it is best viewed as temporary until another executive order it just cancelled it out or the Supreme Court overrules it as unconstitutional if it is. What are the president's little Powers isn't going to change the fact they lost the House of Representatives.

Any law to get to the president's desk must clear the House and the Senate. It's not going to just be the rich white men having their voices heard. Not that Donald Trump is passing any kind of legislation anyways he hasn't really accomplished very much. He's managed to stay out of the way enough to not damage the Obama economic growth that is starting to taper off. That's not really Trump's fault that the economy is due to cycle again and Republicans just don't understand fiscal policy enough to manage that. We'll get the car in the ditch again.

But now that the president can't sign laws that the Democrats don't like? I love it. We just needed to win either the house or the Senate to create a lame duck. How do you think Trump is going to compromise? The only reason he gets along with the Republican party is because they were okay being so emasculated by him in the primaries....

Overall and all things considered, I think tonight is a decent hold for Republicans and disappointing for Democrats. Yes, Democrats took the House and a decent chunk of gubernatorial races, but the Republicans did better than expected in the Senate. It looks like Tester might lose, too.

Control of the House can change in a political instant. But the Senate is the more powerful body and the gift that keeps on giving. It might take multiple cycles for Democrats to think about taking back the Senate now. Yesterday was a tough map for them, but 2020 doesn't look all that great either, with maybe 2-3 states that look like they could be flipped. GOP probably holds the Senate through at least 2022 now.

He already broke Obamacare's legs. Nothing anyone can do about that. ^^

As for the rest of your crock of crapola...

I got some news for ya. The House is full of rich white men too. The crap about today's economy resulting from things Obama did... puleeze. The president can sign any laws he wants, he can also veto them as well. The Dems won a small victory. But other than making Trump's life a bit rough, they can't touch him. ^^

No, he's not even close to a god. As for suffering... why would I suffer?
I assume you noted "which" judges Trump has appointed, right? I mean I quoted it just above.
