Universal healthcare will make worse outcomes, think insurance companies now, just on cocaine. Given how close big business and big government are in the US, itll probably be run by the same people profiting the same people if we went to a “government run” system, which we arent far from currently.

All forms of social security make people end up worse. Just look at what its done to the african american community. Again sold as an “insurance policy”, when its really just a shit tax with young people paying for the old and government taking roughly 30-40%.

The idea that the demand for these ideas came from the people and werent sold to them still makes me sad to this day.

Initially, yes. But the meaning of the term 1st world has., like so many things, changed over the years.
NOW... it does mean... not a shithole.

Or... maybe: electricity, indoor plumbing and access to good food, medical and schools.

Current definition also includes functioning democracy, and not a theocracy. Under the current definition, I'm not sure Denmark is first world. Decent enough nation, but given it's a Monarchy, that kind of goes against the whole democracy thing.

That being said, if the definition they are using is the 3 world definition of the 50's, then that's what they're using. Hence why I asked.

The US is the odd country that has the money to produce some sort of healthcare for all and doesn't.
