This is just fear porn. Don't want your house broken into? Get a dog and lock your door. It's really that simple. People breaking into homes are crimes of opportunity. There's no secret brigade of men walking around trying to break into every house they find so they can harm you. They're just looking for easy targets to steal from and it's incredibly simple to deter them.

Looking at the scanner, no home invasions in last 24 hours, just many carjackings and armed robberies.
