Believe me, nobody "fears" brown people. We just don't want them here.

often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

If that can't be summarized by "authoritarian ethnonationalism", then how would you describe it?

you're quoting the antifa dictionary that spends most of its editorial effort on twitter trying to heckle Trump
fascism is a concept with well defined roots in the roman republic and earlier etruscans, with its meaning plain right in the literal etymological root of the word, the latin bundle. The fasces, everyones favorite faggot, representing the combined strength of individual sticks to symbolize the power of people united, and the authority of the axe, of a lictor to use state endorsed violence to enforce the law. Adopted into the heraldry of various empires and governments for thousands of years, including that one Nancy Pelosi gets to swing around.

Merriam Webster can try all day long to redefine a term to mean something it didn't mean for the past 2000 years of history. Its right in the iconography and word itself, a concept so plain you can beat people over the head with it, which is kind of the point of the fasces

Damn man you are insanely desparate.

Even if I were to accept that fascism as a term has roots dating back thousands of years (it doesn't really, it's more like 150 years old at the absolute earliest) that doesn't mean jack shit. Words change all the time.

Sorry your tiny brain doesn't understand that there can be a stark difference between what a word means now and what it meant 2000 years ago, but today fascism is deeply intertwined with ethnonationalism, not simply nationalism.

The romans were so obsessed with the concept of strength through authoritarian nationalism that they plastered the symbolism into everything they did and its been copied to death since then. The US itself was founded emulating it. Mussolini copied it, and Hitler copied Mussolini. Do you think Roman lictors were swinging around a bundle of sticks with an axe because it was a practical design, or they just liked the look of it? If its inherently ethnonationalist, why did fascist italy have such friction with nazi germany's antisemitism and eugenics? As Mussolini himself said "I don't believe a bit in the stupid anti-Semitic theory. I am carrying out my policy entirely for political reasons", until the Nazis finally got to swing their weight around on him
its just another one of the many words regressive liberals try to redefine as a form of 'argument'. The romans defined it so thoroughly that it was writ in stone, carved in marble, philosophically debated by centuries of senators.

A teapot can be black or grey or white or brown or green or any color. A teapot is a pot, in which you boil tea. That's why its called a teapot. If tomorrow you decided that "teapot" now exclusively means "white teapots", and that's there's no such thing as the concept of a non-white teapot, I'd question your sanity. All the red and purple teapots throughout history, vanished into oblivion. Redefining a word is the stupidest form of argument and basically all merriam webster has done for the past few years while screeching about Trump on twitter

That's a lot of typing to just say "I don't like it when words mean things I don't want them to mean".

Fascism in its modern form pretty much only exists as ethnonationalism, and if you ask somebody what they think of when they say fascist government they will pretty much always say Nazi Germany.

Doesn't really matter if you can create a definition that also includes more subtle forms of ethnonationalism the fact is that the modern view on the subject is the way it is and that fact doesn't care about your feelings.

Maybe liberals should start coming up with new ideas instead of redefining existing ideas. Its kind of like Hollywood's approach to moviemaking for the past decade. You rebooted the word "fascism" with an all-female cast.
Lets just throw out a few millennia worth of canon, better retcon all those governments that uses fascist symbology now that its suddenly racist

Your education did you a great disservice if words changing over time, especially political words, is a new concept to you.

Redefining "gender", redefining "racism", redefining "fascism", redefining "science"
How many times on PARD have I said that arguing by redefining word is profoundly stupid? Should pretty much be my signature at this point. The purpose of words is to describe concepts, the concepts don't change when you change a word, all you do is obfuscate. Chromosomes decide whether a child is born a boy or a girl, discriminating against someone because of their skin color is racist, ultra authoritarian nationalism is fascist, and feelings don't change facts. And you'll never be a woman.
