There is a "kernel of truth" and it's that Jews weren't allowed to own property for a lot of history in Europe, which meant they had to make money in other ways, and since Christians weren't allowed to loan money to other Christians with interest through most of history it meant Jews mostly made their living by loaning money.
I didn't ask how Jews became greedy. I asked whether they
are greedy.

That's where the "greedy jewish banker" stereotype comes from, and when a kingdom or organization couldn't pay back their debt they would frequently rile up anti-semitism and just straight up murder the jews holding their debt.
I don't think Kings or Queens riled up anti-semitism. I believe there was hatred for Jews due to the way Jews behaved. And people responded to that, and they turned to their rulers to expel Jews.
I am not saying I must be right. I am just saying that you don't have the monopoly on truth. Remember, neither of us was alive during those times, and my version of the events is just as valid as yours.

So yeah, there is a kernel of truth, but the kernel of truth just reveals how Jews have historically been scapegoats.
I have heard of the trope, "Jews are scapegoats" too many times.
