The world being clear that Putin doesn't have a seat at the table any longer is a step in this direction. He is the problem here. Russia can handle that internally however they want, as long as they leave Ukraine and start paying reparations to build their cities, which we can dock form the oligarch's western assets easily enough.

Putin doesn't have direct control over his nukes because they don't have civilian command of the military the military controls the nukes. The military in Russia has attacked its politicians in my lifetime already. The idea that the generals who have been safeguarding these things and working with western generals for 40-50 years are going to let Putin commit global suicide is pretty out there when there is NO threat to Russia's territorial sovereignty, NO threat to Russians living in Russia, NO threat to Russians living abroad unless they're murdering citizens of that nation, NO existential threat to Russia at all, and every promise of mutually assured destruction in less than 10 minutes.

We are nowhere near your level of anxiety and fearmongering being warranted imo.

Well 95% of stuff you read today is pure propaganda really on any side. We in the west are spammed with headlines of Russia “failing”, “weak” etc, it’s not really objective. A rational person should take a step back and realize they’ve only deployed 200k troops out of 900k active military, with 2 million in reserves. They have delivery systems that bypass all modern rocket defense systems. They have nuclear subs lurking in international waters armed with nukes.

Skinned and friends think if we apply more pressure somehow they’ll fold when I don’t think that’s reality when Putin for the last 20 years has been preparing for this and in reality escalation will lead to probably hundreds of thousands if not millions of death.

Russia failed to anticipate the degree of Ukrainian resistance, it was an intelligence failure.
However, the Russian military is not a limping buffoon as propaganda is making out to be. Indeed 200k troops deployed across such a very large front line too little by any standard. American troops in Iraq were dealing with a MUCH smaller front line and Saddam's army didn't fight. Germans in WW2 had MUCH more troops compared to the size of the front line.
Russia will either focus its troops on a smaller front line at a time or bring in more troops.

Well if Putin keeps sending Russians to die in Ukraine that's on him. It's obvious that stuff doesn't help in a guerilla war. This isn't Chechnya either.

Putin is calling mercenaries, its going bad. We haven't seen sergei shoigu since that picture of him being scolded.

Again you think that if we send more military help the Russians will start losing and they’ll just turn back, or they’ll start carpet bombing, deploying cluster munitions, deploying chemical weapons that in reality you don’t need boots on the ground to take cities and have your soldiers picked off.

Why are you banking that they won’t escalate if we escalate?

For Russia, this is an almost an existential battle.
For USA, just another theatre of many in their world empire.
In this game chicken it is easy to anticipate who will blink first
