So many Chicken Littles in America now. Why are millineals trained to be so anxious and dramatic?

There is no new world order outside of capitalism, and the only challenger to that in america politics is Bernie sanders.

Capitalism is the world order and it's great at creating new ghettos, apartheids, and slums.

Biden sucks, we'll pick another one soon. Haven't had a good one in awhile.

Your short sighted nature disallows you from even beginning to comprehend ancient religion.

i didnt want biden i just didnt want trump because he was one of the most damaging presidents in us history to our countries morality

The damage was done with Bill Clinton. Barack Obama destroyed what was left of the nation's morality when he put his fairy light show on the white house to celebrate sodomists marrying one another.

81 million people voted for a lifelong segregationist and racist who wrote the “black super-predators” crime bill (just ask him) who didnt win a single delegate in two prior primaries. had to quit the first one because he lied about blatant plagiarism in his education and as a swamp demon

same lifelong segregationist and racist managed to get more minority votes than trump and obama combined (or something like that)

when the lefties say ‘america is a racist country’ - one only needs to look to this group’s actions to see why this is true

Trump deserves credit for the deal he made, and he deserves blame for not managing to withdrawal from Afghanistan when he had 4 years to do it. He also had 4 years to get an infrastructure bill done, but was too busy cutting taxes for the rich, obstructing justice, and tweeting.

There's a lot of blame to go around with the Afghanistan war. It was a failure of politicians, the voters who chose those politicians, the military, the intelligence agencies, etc. For 20 years America tried to build an Afghan government and military that could stand on it's own. It failed spectacularly.

It would be easy to look at the Afghanistan withdrawal, and place all the blame on Biden, just like people blame him for everything that's gone wrong in the country under his leadership. I have a more nuanced view, where I recognize that history didn't start in January 2021, sometimes success isn't possible, the president doesn't control everything, and a lot of times there's no good choices for a president to make. When you drill down on the Afghanistan debacle, I don't see any major mistakes by Biden himself. Therefore, I view it as a win for him and his administration. The conventional wisdom on this issue is wrong.

I've already had this debate with thor in this thread: we need to distinguish the decision to withdraw from Afghanistan, essentially conceding that the nation building effort has been an abject failure, from the execution of this withdrawal. Biden is not to blame for the former, but he imho does bear most of the responsibility for the latter.

2 factors no one really bothers to even look into:

1. was it really that disastrous? we keep hearing it was by anti-biden people, but like really was it?

2. what negative side effects would a more widespread and calculated pullout have caused?

i dont think it was done very well, but i am also shocked at how sheepish of a defense the new govt put up, and wonder what plans for evacuation depended on them at least holding the taliban back for a week or two.

i mean we hear all the time about the stranded americans, but how many have been decapitated? how many havent been able to get back home unspoiled? and how many would have gotten out smoothly if the govt we spend decades building at least made the taliban slow down instead of just walking into the capital?

I think Biden's done a good job as president. He pulled us out of a 20 year war and passed an infrastructure bill, both things Trump promised to do and failed to deliver on. He's handled the Russia-Ukraine war well. Unfortunately he inherited a mess... and the health and economic consequences of COVID are not his fault. Americans are dumb, so when the economy is good, they credit the president, and when it's bad, they blame the president, as if the president's policy is the main driver of the health of the economy. Biden's administration has responded to COVID and the economy in a competent way, and that's all I expect.

LMFAO

the way you guys talk about the 'war in Afghanistan makes you seem unbelievably ignorant

they had like 5000 troops in there and there was almost ZERO causalities for the USA

then they completely botch evacuating and now Afghanistan and the people will suffer (mostly women who will be put into sex slavery by the Taliban)
