Ok, let's do this another way.
Tell me what your days consist of. I told you what mine are in general.
Tell me, what does thor do from Monday to Friday at work. Outside of work , any real hobbies that ain't lies to look busy.
We're online, shoot what you got. I am really interested in finding out!
My work hours are pretty inconsistent, because I'm a pretty inconsistent person. I like that. If I get too consistent I get bored.
Monday: Wake up 9:30. Group meeting 10:30. Meet with a few people I manage until 1 p.m. at which point I have a meeting with the boss to go over projects and budgeting for the previous week. Then I prep lab stuff for the week and do the ordering.
Tuesday: Wake up at 9:30 and have first meeting at 10:30. That's over by 11:30. Then it's super variable. Usually I have a few things to prep and I leave by 2 p.m.
Wednesday: Wake up whenever I want. Go in whenever I want. Get things done. Usually I start a few experiments that take 2-3 days to complete on Wednesdays. So I'll start by running the gels, plating the cells, etc. If anybody else needs help I help them with things.
Thursday: Same as Wednesday, but usually my experiments are further along. I leave when I finish.
Friday: Same as Thursday.
Then weekends I come in for 1-2 hours to do my mice treatments. We have 1-2 mouse experiments at any given time which we're hoping will have good results and move on to phase I trials.
Some weeks that means I'm working 60 hours because I'm grafting mice. That was last week. I grafted 100 mice with various tumor models. This week I don't have much to do since they have to sit for a week before I can start treatment. Sometimes I have meetings around specific projects, like last week I had one on Wednesday to discuss the next direction for a project. We're trying to manufacture an antibody for a clinical test. If we can pull it off and make the clinical test that'll give consistent income to the lab and get us at least a few more staff members.
Next week I expect I'll be interviewing for a new position we just put out for.
